EmDoT SA Shines at Smart City Expo World Congress: From Exhibition Floor to Congress Main Stage

Showcasing our fully deployed smart-waste model and earning main-stage validation at the 2025 global smart-city gathering.

This year in Barcelona, EmDoT SA had a strong presence at the Smart City Expo World Congress, starting from the exhibition floor.

At Hall 3 (Booth B145 – Greek National Innovation Pavilion) , our team presented the EmDoT Waste Management Suite (DoT.Waste), consisting of Dot.Weighing® (globally certified on-board weighing), Dot.SmartBins® (live fill & weight telemetry), Dot.Capacity Management® (route and capacity optimization with AI-based forecasting), supported by PAYT and Operations Dashboards.

Together, these modules form a unique, fully deployed smart-waste model that attracted significant attention from international delegations, global integrators and city networks searching for practical, scalable solutions.

This strong interest on the exhibition floor created the ideal context for the second milestone of the week:

Mayor Grigoris Konstantellos was invited to the main Congress programme, where he presented the municipality’s Smart-Waste transformation built with EmDoT SA and OTE Group of Companies (HTO).

In the session “Waste Not, Want Not: How Do We Create Resource-Smart Cities?” he described how the Municipality Vari Voula Vouliagmeni operates a data-driven model with live fill and weight telemetry, AI forecasting, predictive routing and measurable environmental gains. This is a living, citywide deployment powered by our technology.

For EmDoT SA, this convergence of exhibition visibility and main-stage validation was highly significant: a pioneering Greek municipality presenting a mature, operational system offered clear evidence that Greece is now exporting working solutions. It also catalyzed new collaboration proposals with cities, operators and technology partners from Europe and the Middle East, highlighting the global relevance of EmDoT SA’s approach.

The Greek National Innovation Pavilion, co-organized by Pleiades Innovation Ecosystem and Enterprise Greece SA, brought together municipalities, research institutions and technology companies under a shared vision, positioning Greece as a coherent innovation ecosystem.

We thank the Greek Embassy in Spain and Enterprise Greece SA – led by Dr. Dimitris KARYDIS for supporting a strong, coordinated national presence.

For EmDoT SA, Barcelona was evidence that policy, technology and measurable performance can converge in real time. We return with new collaborations, deeper institutional alliances and clear proof that Greek innovation can compete confidently on the global smart-city stage.
