About the role

As Embedded Firmware and Hardware Electronic Engineer at EmDoT, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing Industrial IoT solutions from conception to production.
  • Translating business requirements to technical requirements for producing robust and reliable hardware and firmware solutions.
  • Designing and implementing hardware and firmware for rugged embedded IoT devices for extremely harsh environments.
  • Documenting design specifications and implementation details.
  • Conducting thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborating with other team members including Firmware, Hardware, Software and Mechanical Engineers to ensure alignment towards our goals.

Requirements and qualifications

To be successful as Embedded Firmware and Hardware Electronic Engineer at EmDoT, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of proven experience as Embedded Firmware and Hardware  Engineer, or a similar role.
  • A university degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of Embedded C programming and real-time operating systems.
  • Design experience with common, high-end embedded MCUs for IoT applications.
  • Experience in digital electronic and PCB design, schematic capture using EDA CAD software such as Altium or similar.
  • Good knowledge of peripheral interfaces, such as UART, I2C, SPI, etc.
  • Experience with debuggers/programmers and lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering iron, hot air soldering, etc.
  • Familiarity with embedded telecommunication device modules and network protocols, such as GSM/GPRS, NΒIoT, LoRaWAN, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a passion for learning new things.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
